Competency 8: Intervene with Individuals, Families, Groups, Organizations, and Communities

Work Experience

During my time at Help at Home, I worked directly with individuals and families, providing care that went beyond basic assistance. I supported clients in maintaining their independence while also recognizing when they needed additional resources. Sometimes this meant coordinating with healthcare providers, helping the family navigate challenges or simply just being a reliable person the client could count on. The work I did was always client-centered and focused on the goals they wanted to achieve.

Competency 8 emphasizes the ability to intervene effectively at multiple levels, and my experience at Help at Home reinforced this skill. I adapted my approach to fit each client’s unique circumstances, making sure they received the right support. I also worked with outside organizations to connect clients with essential services within the community.
