Who Am I?
I live my life guided by the goal of paying forward the kindness that changed my life. In 10th grade, I met a social worker who saw beyond my failing math test and recognized my struggles at home. That moment changed everything. It showed me the power of empathy and how a single person’s support can reshape a life.
Since then, other social workers have stepped in and helped me change my life trajectory. Their impact inspired me to pursue social work, where I’ve deepened my understanding of what it means to help others.
Outside the classroom, I’ve worked to connect people with housing and addiction resources and supported disabled individuals in living independently. These experiences have furthered my commitment in empowering individuals to reach their full potential.
As I move forward, I see myself as a social worker who listens and meets people where they are. My personal experience has shown me where empathy, support, and finding your own strength can lead you. I want to be the kind of social worker that supports people in building a future they can feel hopeful about and I would like to leave the world a little bit better than I found it. I am excited to continue my pursuit of learning how to be the best social worker I can be!
